Kate Pendry ja BIT Teatergarasjen: Peepshow Marilyn

Peepshow Marilyn: Gentlemen Prefer Dead Blondes is a poetic and ambient performance about the moment of Marilyn Monroe’s death where the artist uses real body modification to dramatise the significance of both the artist’s and Marilyn's pain. This is done in the form of sixteen fishhooks pierced through the flesh. The performance has developed into a durational living installation sometimes lasting up to twelve hours. In Oslo this performance was given in a Savoy hotel room. In Helsinki Marilyn’s last moments will be witnessed in a private apartment in Töölö.

Kate Pendry comes originally from Great Britain but has lived for many years in Norway. She characterizes herself as a multi-artist/performer. Pendry got her training in Great Britain and now works in various fields of live art and electronic art both as a performer and a curator around Europe. Pendry currently writes and presents the DDC World News (Dead Diana Corporation), a satirical, maverick radio show on Radio Orakel in Oslo, the first all-women run radio station in the world. On the radio station’s web site you can read Princess Diana’s diary written in heaven at www.deaddiana.com.

Kate Pendry also presents another performance at the Baltic Circle Festival, Sex In The Warzone.
