Sex In The Warzone was born out of Kate Pendry’s recent visit to Sarajevo and Kosovo. It addresses the very taboo subject of (post) war-tourism, and the eroticism that 'westerners' experience during these trips. The performance is a one-hour spoken word piece, using real-time voice manipulation effects and some blood letting. Kate Pendry comes originally from Great Britain but has lived for many years in Norway. She characterizes herself as a multi-artist/performer. Pendry got her training in Great Britain and now works in various fields of live art and electronic art both as a performer and a curator around Europe. Pendry currently writes and presents the DDC World News (Dead Diana Corporation), a satirical, maverick radio show on Radio Orakel in Oslo, the first all-women run radio station in the world.
