Plasma and Transeuropa festival: Blue Moon

"On the screen I will live even when my body is dead."

An international congress loses focus of its topic as its participants are flooded with information. In the emerging collective storm of neurons, forbidden things start to surface: passions, desires, melancholy, lust and violence are revealed. And in this experimental setting the characters start turning into sorcerer’s apprentices. Their images develop a life of their own and after a while, it is impossible to tell the difference between the original and the copy, between reality and its medial image. The Plasma performance is a live installation, a play on words, a multi-facetted score of actions, texts, sounds and images.

European performance group Plasma was founded by writer, director and set-designer Lukas Bangerter together with actor Wowo Habdank in 1999. The group brings together actors from Germany, Austria and Switzerland and calls itself militantly poetic. For Blue Moon: An Experiment to Prove the Existence of Soul, the Norwegian actress Ane Skumsvoll joins the group. Plasma aims at turning social conventions into art’s realities where the common instruments of perception cannot be applied anymore.
