Teater Tribunalen: The Axis of Evil

"Om vi inte är, eller blir värdiga? Man kunde kissa på sig för mindre."

The Axis of Evil is about the world after September 11th, a place in which a new world war is waged against terrorism in the name of "Freedom" "with God on our side".

The performance presents a modern love story in the spirit of Romeo and Juliet and its multilayered story takes place in both, the Middle East and in a Swedish suburb in the home of a refugee family. Regardless of time and place, these Palestinians are forced to live in the dreadful shadow of the Middle East conflict and the play reveals a world which is about to fall apart.

Teater Tribunalen was founded in Stockholm in 1995. This independent theatre ensemble was born out of a protest towards stagnant theatre policy in Sweden. Teater Tribunalen is openly political in its performances leaning to the left. Richard Turpin, the author of Axis of Evil, is the Artistic Director of Tribunalen.
