LITHUANIAN DRAMA IN FINNISH - AN ANTHOLOGY AND PLAYS
The first anthology of Lithuanian contemporary drama to be published in Finnish "Kolme kerettiläistä" presents the three most exciting Lithuanian dramatists of today. The anthology includes a wonderful variety of plays that have been translated into Finnish by Jussi Lehtonen. The anthology, edited by Jussi Lehtonen and Jukka Hytti, is published by Like Publishing Ltd.
The publishing party on November 16th at 6 pm in The Finnish National Theatre.
The plays of the dramatists presented in the anthology will be performed in Drama Readings during Baltic Circle:
Sigitas Parulskis’ intense play The Ferryman (Keltininkas) is a hilarious depiction of a man in the midst of a mid-life crisis. The Ferryman will be performed on Friday 16th of November 7 pm at The Finnish National Theatre, Omapohja. Tickets 5€, only from the Finnish National Theatre. Read more >>
Marius Ivaškevičius' Annika (Artimas miestas) is an engaging study of Nordic lifestyle, double identity and people’s need to lead more than one life. Annika will be performed on Saturday 24th of November at 2 pm. in the Drama Reading Event at Q-theatre, the event is free of charge. Read more>>
Daiva Čepauskait’s play The Beans (Pupos) is a touching, humane and humoristic story about the relationship of an elderly couple. Radio Theatre produces The Beans as a radio play.
