THEATRE FESTIVALS IN TRANSITION (FIT) Ten festivals from ten European countries focusing on contemporary theatre creation have come together to create a travelling laboratory to explore, develop and test drive innovative practices of discourse, critical writing and communication between artists, programmers and audiences in response to contemporary performance. Thought carefully developed artistic programmes, public discussions, collaborations with media and Mobile Lab workshop programmes for young or alternative theatre critics and writers, the project aims to re-enforce a bridge of understanding and dialogue between artists and audiences, to encourage a wider discussion on contemporary performing arts and their discursive potential, as well as creating a space for critical reflection from the audience and to activate the involvement of the media in reflecting performing arts. The Baltic Circle workshop that takes place May 14-17 is the third Mobile Lab workshop. The texts written during the festival by the 15 international critic-participants will be published in the e-journal DramAgora.
