ESTONIANS:

RAADIO MARIA
Raadio Maria’s single Helsingi on täna haige has become a small hit even in Finland. Now the band makes its first visit to Helsinki. Raadio Maria is a band of well-known Estonian culture workers from different fields.

STELLA
If the term psychedelia is now being used indiscriminately by many musicians in their self-description, then in the case of Stella from Tallinn, it is not beside the mark. They play what they call powerpop with psychedelic, trashy and harsh attitude. Sure you have heard it all before? Not really. While, say, Chicks on Speed have made an army of replicants, Stella, while seemingly aware of Chicks on Speed heritage, reach further back to post-industrial and new wave schools, are less social, more withdrawn, less provocative and harsher and more direct in style.

ANDRES LÕO & THE FOXES OF BOREA
... are petrified dreams, a contemporary fairytale and a phantom platform for poppy, sometimes extremist sounding powertunes and tricky riddims. From since Lõo disbanded from his long-time devotion Luarvik Luarvik, turning into a singer one-man-band songwriter, with occasional collaborators as the foxes from Borea, has made him into some sort of an actionist pop-diversant, who likes to drop in a few dripples of glam. It's music, alright, but don't let it decieve you, it IS music. Just singing, drums, synths... And the truth emerges.

CHALICE

If you haven’t heard Chalice, you’ve missed the essence and quintessence of Estonian hip-hop. But not just Estonian - it’s hard to find suitable analogues to the ingenious music of this young rapper. Musically working in the areas of A Tribe Called Quest and other Native Tongues members, Chalice’s music is sometimes jazz-driven, sometimes funk-driven. You can hear him sing in falsetto and rap ultra fast. But the common denominator is always a personal approach to life and music around him.

FINNS:

MARIE C JA TERIJOEN HALLITUS
Vocal and instrumental ensemble "Marie C and the Terijoki Government" hails from Vanha Juko Theatre in Lahti, Finland. The group performs progressive music in various European and Finno-Ugric languages for enlightened concourses. To be precise, they feature progression, regression, cursing and misinterpreted evergreens and pop classics.

RAHIKAINEN JA PERÄÄNANTAMATTOMAT

A band from the play Tuntematon sotilas by Kristian Smeds.

LÄSKI

Läski is the foremost experimental Finnish rock-band today! Well, at least one of the strangest. Läski (meaning ham, lard or fat) was born from the remains of the band called Pale Rider & Lonely Faggots, a band specialized in playing brutal country music. Läski is musically reaching towards to the roots of our West-Siberian existence and to the space where music is being created. Läski is: Pasi Mäkelä, Tomi Suovankoski, Tuomas Timonen, Ville Härkönen + Lauri Kontula, & Miikka Tuominen.

LOS PUTAS PRESIDENTOS
A band featuring Miguel Castro, Marque Castro and Pasque Castro

AND A BAND FROM SWEDEN

NIKLAS
Niklas Häggblom, Niklas Groundstroem & Niklas Weissenberg play progressive folk music in Swedish.
