Oxygen

Oxygen portrays today’s society as one that is gasping for air. In order to obtain it, individuals do hideous things: destroy, vandalise, and kill. Still, there is a longing for lucidity, purity and peace. The performance shows us hope and uses oxygen as its symbol. Oxygen is one’s passion for life, a vigour in relationships and thoughts, and also the key to the survival of society. The narrative focuses on a woman from a big city and a man from a small town, and whether or not they will find each other. Oxygen is a hip hop performance - the actors rap their lines and the DJ directs the show and mixes live music during the scenes.

PolygonTheatre established in 2008, is a production unit which functions as a meeting forum for Estonian and international artists. PolygonTheatre is active in a wide range of art forms - besides theatre, the group produces movies, radio plays, music, workshops, performances and media art. The group represents Poor Theatre movement, but is simultaneously open-minded in seeking new forms and practices for the stage.
