I DO NOT SPEAK ABOUT LOVE HERE Teatr Cinema

Four men in suits work with four tall metal boxes.
They work on the boxes in sync, but they do not work with one another.
Accompanied by the sombre sounds of Gustav Mahler’s music and under sparse illumination, they devote themselves to the intimate everyday rituals characteristic of human existence.
Feverish vitality alternates with subtle fragility. A study in loneliness, where people interact with objects. Prosaic everyday objects demand our attention and draw our emotions, and thus force people to recognize their right to exist.
I do not speak of love here captivates with the formal rigidity of its visual language and with its consequent elimination of everything but the essentials.

Founded in 1992, Teatr Cinema hails from a small south western Polish village, Michalowice. The core of the group consists of four professional actors working exclusively for the Cinema. They refer to themselves a workshop theatre. The company prioritizes process over the display of results. Artists of other Polish theatrical groups are invited to participate in projects done in a greater scale.

The artistic image of the group is created by its leader Zbyszek Szumski. The actors join in to devise a show through improvisation and association of ideas. Their propositions are often the answers to Szumski's graphic works and print art), which constitute the first version of the scenario. The scenic movement, which structures the acting of the performers, as well as the painted flats of scenery, unite the author’s intentions and the creative inspirations of the actors. Teatr Cinema is discovering and elaborating new visual values of the language of theatre.
