Why did we turn out like this? Who’s to blame? Our parents, the nineties, the media, the Minister of Finance? Childhood in the 1990s Finland was part fairy tale, part dystopia: school ski races, first kisses, Kurt Cobain’s sexy, scattered brain, sticky Nintendo controllers, glitter makeup, wife-beating jokes on TV, a gravity bong, and a hand slipping under someone else’s top for the first time.
Life was hell. And we miss it more than anything.
